DJ / Producer Pavel Bidlo's dream became a reality in 1989 when the heavy hand of communism was finally lifted from the magical city of Prague. The fierce restrictions of freedom imposed on the people of Eastern Europe made it nearly impossible to even dare to believe a career in the music industry could be possible. By 1991 Bidlo had already started on his vinyl venture. It didn't take long for Bidlo to become one of the leading figures in his country to bring International Dance music to Prague. With his unwavering passion and strong dedication to dance music the first parties he organized eventually gave birth to the renowned club scene that currently exists in Prague today. Bidlo quickly rose to fame in his city as a brave pioneer whose dazzling and dynamic percussive sets continually draw thousands flocking from all over the country to get a taste of his explosive sounds.

Czech legend, Bidlo, was the first DJ in his country to turn his musical skills to producing and remixing. Bidlo's current release on Deep Dish's newest label, Shinichi, has been filling charts all over the globe including a two month spot on DJ Magazine's Hype Chart and a solid pick in the Beat Box Hot Plate of Billboard Magazine. 'Wildlife" was also acclaimed in Rolling Stone as the best dance track ever produced by a Czech artist. The two tracks 'Wildlife" and "Hope" have been favorites with such legendary DJs as John Digweed, Danny Howells, Roger Sanchez and Deep Dish to name a few. The dance music bible Mix Mag claimed "Bidlo is regularly cited as the best DJ in Prague". He has also received countless awards and recognition for his talent including being chosen as "the best Czech DJ in 2001" by Esquire magazine. The invitation of his unique sound has rapidly expanded across the globe with gigs from Amsterdam to Brazil and New York City to Canada. This past year landed a gig with Deep Dish at Space during the Miami Winter Music Conference for the pivotal Yoshitoshi party. He has played unforgettable sets alongside DJs such as Derrick Carter, Xpress -2 and Pete Heller.

Gracing venues from intimate lounges to Festivals for crowds of 20,000, Bidlo continually dazzles his fans with his unique sound and craftsmanship. With all this under his belt it's no surprise Bidlo has created a global demand for his live sets and remix work. It may seem like a lifetime ago when Bidlo was illegally wiring his radio to sample the sounds of Western music. But he will never take for granted all the freedoms his country now has and his new home of New York City offers. Keep your eyes peeled for this humble self-taught talent who knows where his roots are because he is likely to sneak up on the scene when you least expect it and sweep you up into his journey just as he did on his own soil.
